We share our school building with a German primary school called DST. Each week we work with the children in Klasse 1 on some maths games, puzzles and activities. At the moment we are focusing on shape. These photos show us working.
Hello from France. Today in Year 2 we have done some writing to tell you, the Pass The Blog audience, about our school. Listen to us read out our writing for you.
My name is Millie. I am in year 5 at IST.
We are going to the Pyrenees on Tuesday. I am looking forward to it!
I am really looking forward to going on my three night trip to the Pyrenees with my class!
I’m looking forward to going to the Pyrenees. It’s kind of exciting!
I’m looking forward to going away on the residential trip, because I’ve never been on one before.
I’m looking forward to it, because we will learn about biomes and the countryside.
Spurred into action by Pass the Blog, we have begun our own today: http://y5bookblog.blogspot.fr/
We’ll be reviewing and recommending some of the great books we’re reading. We’re starting off with some magnificent Michael Morpurgo books, but we’ll go on to other things soon.
So, Year 5 at IST have been making and using their paper fortune tellers. You might be wishing you could have a go with them too.
Well you can – sort of.
We created a Google spreadsheet which has many of our predictions on it.
Now you can use this to see how you will do in the school year ahead.
First pick a colour: RED BLUE YELLOW or GREEN
Once you’ve chosen your colour, choose a number between 2 and 15.
Have you chosen?
Now you’re ready to try our Virtual Paper Fortune Teller.
Just one thing before you do. The Virtual Paper Fortune Teller was designed for Year 5 children, that’s children between 9 and 10 years old. It was also calibrated for children at the International School of Toulouse. It will work for you if you’re not that age or in that school, but you will need to adapt it to your own circumstances.
Have you still got that colour and number?
OK. Here we go…
Click on the picture below. Look in the column that’s the colour you chose and along the row that’s the number you chose. That’s your prediction.
Oh, and one other thing. Your future is not fixed. You can change what happens, making it better than you thought it might be for instance, by what you do. But that’s obvious.
It’s still the beginning of Year 5 for us at IST, so today we had a go at seeing into the future. How would we do in Year 5? What successes might we have? We used a paper fortune teller to look at some of the things we might like to happen.
