Oh Ellie- Part 2 – by Emilea.

Our very first post on Pass The Blog was the first past of ‘Oh Ellie’ a story Emilea had written.

Emilea has just written the second installment in her story, so we thought this would make a good ‘last post’ from Woodlands.

Thanks for hosting us Pass The Blog 🙂

OH ELLIE- Part 2

The cloud

They couldn’t quite believe what they had heard, the mysterious voice had whispered…

“to find Ellie you must solve my riddle

Ellie is a cheerful girl

She doesn’t like muck but she loves paint

I have hidden her in a room where you paint, draw and sketch

She is in a three angled place think of your 3d shapes and you have solved my riddle”

“let’s think she is in room that you can paint, draw and sketch” Emilea questioned ”where could she be?”

“IN THE ART ROOM!!!!”Exclaimed Bradley

“Now is for the tricky part” said Toyah

“think of a shape that is 3D? What could be that 3d shape?”

“A CUBE!” Jack shouted rudely

“yes jack but there isn’t a cube in the art room is there now?” answered Emilea

“no there isn’t but there is a corner!!!!”whispered Ethan to Emilea

“that’s’ a great idea Ethan!” shouted Emilea at the top of her voice”

Art room here we come

“we have solved the riddle!!!!!!!”shouted everyone

They dashed off to the art room as quick as lightning

Emilea slammed the door open and shouted” Ellie are you in here!”

Then all of a sudden a gust of wind circled their feet then the cloud came back and said

“well done you solved my riddle but can you put up with this?”at that moment he opened the cupboard with a gust of wind and pulled Ellie out chucked her out into the sun and landed in the thorn bush!

“NOOOOO” Screamed Emilea as she collapsed to the floor.

Toyah and Emma rushed to her and tried to pull Emilea up but she would not move.

Ellie had had a nice soft landing although no one knew. Somehow the thorns had managed to cut the rope that she was tied up in.

Bradley, Jack and Ethan ran through the library through the door and outside .

To their amazement Ellie had just walked out of the bush with lots’ of scratches

“I can handle myself thanks boys…”

But Emilea was still left on the floor…

to be continued …[but that’ll be over on our class website :)]

Music and Art of the Week

Most weeks on our class website, we have a ‘Music and Art of the Week’ feature- this started off as an ‘experiment’ last year and was so popular with the children and their families that we have continued it!

Each week, a child chooses a piece of music and and piece of art  which they want to share with the rest of the class and our on-line audience- this is on-line for a week before we discuss the music and art in our class assembly every Friday.   We often have lots of comments to look at both from the children, their families and our wider audience and  the discussion is always fascinating to observe!

We wanted to share this week’s Music and Art with everyone on Pass The Blog.   The original post (which our class will comment on) can be found here–  but we’d love your comments whether they are on this post, or the post on our class blog.

So here goes- this week’s Music and Art has been chosen by Rory, aged 9.

Music

Rory has chosen a peice of music which I really like, but which I haven’t heard for ages!   Here goes:-

What do you think of the music?  Do you like it?  Below are some questions written by Rory to get you thinking:-

  • How is this piece of music similar/different to what you normally like to listen to?
  • what do you think the story is about?
  • what or who do you think the monkey is?
  • does it make you sad or happy?  Why?
  • What instruments can you hear in the  music?
Art
Here is Rory’s choice for our Art of the Week.

What do you think of this painting?  Here are some questions from Rory to get you thinking…

  • Who do you think is in the painting?   Who is the lady?  Is it her baby?
  • Do you think this is a scene the painter had seen?  Why?
  • Can you find out what the painting is called and/or who painted it?
  • Does it look old or new to you?  Why?
  • What do you think the painting  is about?
  • Would you want this on your wall?  Why/Why not?

Two great choices Rory- I can’t wait to see what people think!

You can also find some of our past music  + art discussions here  and here.

OH Ellie- Part 1 by Emilea

Emilea has asked for the first part of her new story to be posted on our Pass The Blog- so here goes 🙂

OH  ELLIE!!!!

By Emilea, 4H, Woodlands Primary

Emilea and Ellie

Emilea and Ellie were best friends, they do everything together.

Emilea is 8 years old, has a little sister called Lucy.

Ellie is also 8, she has a twin sister called Chanel.

A hot summers day

One day Emilea and Ellie were outside at break time on a normal school day they were both wearing they’re school uniform, Emilea was wearing a black skirt which flared at the end Ellie however was wearing trousers which were nice and silky.

It was a boiling hot day at school so Emilea and Ellie decided to find the old tree that shaded most of the ground but that was jam packed so Ellie sprinted to the hall to see if any people were in there

‘’No ones in here so I’ll go and get Emilea’’ murmured Ellie to herself while running to Emilea who was standing in the middle of the play ground waiting for her.

‘’no ones in there lets go“ shouted Ellie over her shoulder

‘’Ellie wait f-f-f-f-f-for me!!!!!’’ called Emilea out of breath.

Ellie ran out of sight a. Emilea ran after her but was too slow.

She quickly ran round the playground looking everywhere for Ellie.

But, she couldn’t find Ellie anywhere, it was like she had vanished from the face of the earth!

Toyah to the rescue?

First she ran over to find Toyah who has brilliant ears and can hear shrieks of anything/ anyone.

“Toyah is always at the pirate ship at break” thought Emilea; she sped off towards the pirate ship. Toyah was playing with her friend Emma. Emilea rudely interrupted with a sight then said

“Toyah quick I can’t find Ellie, she is my best friend I need to find her!!!!!”

Emma overheard the dreadful thing that had happened, with a gasp she spluttered shivering

“E-E-E-Ellies gone m-m-m-missing”

Just then the pirate ship turned from being a triangle to a square

“that’s weird” murmured Emilea “that pirate ship was a triangle a minute ago but now it’s a square I swear!”

“What’s weird?” asked Toyah

“Erm nothing I was just seeing things and anyway we need to find Ellie before she hurts herself!”

They sped off down the playground looking at every inch of the playground but there was no sight of Ellie.

On the way to the hall they saw a flash of light down near the ampethearter. They stopped and then ran the other way.

Ethan Bradley and Jack

They found Ethan, Jack, Mackenzie and Bradley with a toy that had loads of people gathering.

“Oh hi Emilea what are you doing over here?”

“we are trying to find Ellie she ran towards  the hall but i was too slow I couldn’t catch up” sobbed Emilea ”I am just too slow for Ellie now look she lost in the school she could be anywhere and it’s all my fault”

“don’t worry Emilea we’ll help you, Toyah and Emma find her won’t we guy’s!”Bradley suggested trying to bring Emilea’s hopes up.

They sped off towards the hall when a gust of wind blew Bradley over, and all of a sudden it sounded like the wind was whipsering a message they heard the mysterious message,  and all stood still in their tracks, wondering what on earth to do.
